AUDIT REFERRALS
TAC provider compliance enquiries
Discuss a private review with a relevant business
Clarify the purpose of the review
Victorian TAC service providers may seek private help reviewing billing practices, service records or the way they meet applicable provider requirements. Tell us whether your enquiry concerns a voluntary internal review, preparation for a requested response or a particular compliance issue. We can seek a relevant external business contact, subject to its experience and scope.
TAC may conduct its own reviews and request records through its official processes. A private consultant’s report does not replace a TAC review, authorise claims or make the consultant a TAC approved auditor. Ask the receiving business about its experience with your provider type, the criteria it will use and how it handles errors it identifies. Where legal rights, formal notices or disputes are involved, consider an appropriately qualified legal adviser as a separate engagement.
Define the records and period
For a billing or records review, ask the receiving business to specify the period, provider type and criteria it will examine. Confirm whether the engagement compares service records, approvals, invoices and payments, and whether findings are based on a sample. A private review has limits and should not be represented as a guarantee that all errors will be detected.
Preserve accurate evidence
Keep original records and ask how the reviewer will distinguish missing documentation from an activity that was not delivered. Records must not be fabricated or backdated to support claims. Where errors are identified, consider the applicable correction and notification steps withappropriate advice. Capital Referral Network does not alter claims or negotiate an official outcome through this introduction service.
Protect client information
Please do not include client names, claim numbers, invoices or health records in the first website enquiry. Describe the issue at a business level. Any detailed records should be requested by the receiving professional through an appropriate secure engagement process.
